400 This photo is a tribute to 3411, STA’s first 14.5m Scania L113TRB. There was an official hand over ceremony at Port Botany depot on Thursday 28th January 1993. It then went to Port Botany to be in service on Wednesday 10th March 1993. In May 1995, 3411 was transferred to Kingsgrove and this is where it lived half of her life (10 years) on routes 400 (and 410 in later years) with a stint of NightRide N30 services to Campbelltown as well. 3411/12 racked up a lot of kilometres operating these long runs. On Thursday 16th June 2005, 3411 was transferred to Ryde depot at 11am and 3443 was sent from Ryde to Kingsgrove as it’s replacement (3412/3444 were also swapped similarly) due to the kilometres. Just over a year later, on Tuesday 4th July 2006, 3411 was transferred from Ryde to Willoughby as Ryde starting receiving the 1.5 door Volvo artics and they were losing the 14.5m Scanias. On Friday 15th August 2008, 3411 returned from refurb with a fresh coat of paint, newly padded seats and Mobitec destination equipment (replaced the Stone McCall Luminator original dezzos). She was the 24th 14.5m to get refurbished out of the 49 that received the treatment (3447 was never done - it was withdrawn after a lot of rust was found in it). Due to engine problems, 3411 was taken out of service on the week starting Sunday 20th November 2016. Her last ever service was on Wednesday 16th November 2016, operating the 7.53am route 293 from Marsfield to Wynyard. 3411 was transferred to FOID Wednesday 30th November 2016 and was de-plated by Saturday 3rd December 2016.
